Hormone Therapy Consultation
30 private minutes with a pharmacist on hormone therapy.
Scheduled when the pharmacy is quiet, so you can actually ask. Bring the questions: about the options, about what your prescriber suggested, about the thing you read at 2am and haven't stopped thinking about.
Already have lab work from your prescriber? Bring it with you. No testing kit needed.
What's included
- A pharmacist goes through what your prescriber has suggested, with you
- Your questions answered at whatever pace you need: dosage forms, what's involved, the trade-offs
- A plain language explanation of how compounded preparations are made, and what that does and doesn't mean
- A written summary to take to your next prescriber appointment
- A second appointment to sit down and go through your lab results together, included at no extra charge
Your consultation is with a pharmacist who completed the Personalized Medicine program in Endocrinology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.

Because these are scheduled when the pharmacy is quiet, we only have a few slots each week.
This consultation is educational and does not replace medical advice from your provider.
Compounded bioidentical hormone preparations are made by our licensed pharmacy pursuant to a prescription from a licensed healthcare practitioner. Compounded medications are NOT FDA-approved.
At home hormone testing
We carry at home hormone testing kits. You collect the sample at home and send it directly to the laboratory. The laboratory's physicians review the results and send a copy to the pharmacy. You then come in and sit down with a pharmacist to go through the report together, before a written recommendation is sent to your prescriber.
The kit is purchased separately. The appointment to go through your results is part of the $150 consultation, not an extra charge.
Testing is optional and does not require a prescription to purchase. If you already have lab work from your prescriber, bring it instead. Any decision to begin, stop, or change any therapy is made by your prescriber.
Bioidentical Hormone Therapy (BHRT) Compounding in Central Florida
Pharmique Pharmacy provides customized bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) compounding services for patients throughout Central Florida. Our licensed pharmacists work directly with healthcare providers to prepare personalized hormone formulations tailored to each patient's individual prescription requirements.
Hormone balance plays a vital role in overall health and well-being. When your healthcare provider determines that hormone therapy may benefit you, compounding offers the flexibility to create formulations specifically designed for your unique needs. That is not always possible with commercially manufactured medications.
What Are Bioidentical Hormones?
Bioidentical hormones are compounds that are chemically identical to the hormones naturally produced by the human body. The term "bioidentical" refers to the molecular structure of the hormone, which matches what your body produces naturally.
Common bioidentical hormones prepared at compounding pharmacies include:
- Estradiol: The primary form of estrogen in the body
- Estriol: A weaker form of estrogen
- Progesterone: Essential for reproductive health and hormonal balance
- Testosterone: Important for both men and women
- DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone): A precursor hormone
- Pregnenolone: A precursor to other hormones
- Thyroid hormones: T3, T4, and combinations
How BHRT Compounding Works
How a Compounded Preparation Is Personalized
Unlike commercially manufactured hormones that come in standardized doses, compounded bioidentical hormones can be prepared in:
Custom Strengths
Your provider can prescribe exact dosages based on your laboratory results and symptoms, allowing for precise adjustments that may not be available in commercial products.
Multiple Delivery Methods
Topical creams and gels, sublingual troches or drops, capsules, vaginal preparations, and transdermal preparations.
Combination Formulations
When appropriate, multiple hormones can be combined into a single preparation, potentially simplifying your regimen as determined by your healthcare provider.
Hormone Pellets
We provide hormone pellet therapy when prescribed by your healthcare provider. Hormone pellet preparations are not FDA-approved.
Who BHRT Is Commonly Prescribed For
Your healthcare provider may consider bioidentical hormone therapy for various situations:
For Women
Perimenopause and Menopause: As women approach and enter menopause, natural hormone production changes significantly.
Hormonal Imbalance: Various conditions can affect hormone levels.
Post-Hysterectomy Care: Women who have undergone hysterectomy may require hormone support.
For Men
Age-Related Hormone Changes: As men age, testosterone levels naturally decline.
Hormonal Evaluation: Men experiencing symptoms that may be related to hormone levels should consult with their healthcare provider for proper evaluation and testing.
