What Is Peptide Compounding?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids. In a pharmaceutical context, a compounded peptide medication is prepared individually for a patient when no commercial medication can match their needs, allowing specific strengths, dosage forms, among other benefits.

Pharmique Pharmacy is a 503A compounding pharmacy. This designation defines exactly what starting materials we can use, especially notable when considering peptide compounding. Hence, we ask to see the prescription before compounding to make sure we can fulfill the request.

What Can We Compound?

A 503A pharmacy, such as Pharmique Pharmacy, may compound from a bulk drug substance within any of the three scenarios below. First, the substance has an applicable United States Pharmacopeia or National Formulary monograph. Second, it is a component of an FDA-approved drug; or third, it appears on FDA's list of bulk drug substances that can be used in compounding. We cannot compound peptides that do not satisfy any of the above tests or have been placed in the FDA's category of substances with safety risks.

We do not supply research peptides

Pharmique Pharmacy does not supply research peptides. We are a licensed pharmacy, and therefore provide patient-specific prescriptions only. We do not sell or compound research-grade and not for human use peptides, and we cannot offer advice on the aforementioned peptides. Peptides bought outside the pharmacy supply chain have not been verified by anyone.

Troches

A slow-dissolving oral form allowing patients to avoid needles and capsules, with easier administration and improved taste.

Topical Preparations

Creams and gels in bases chosen for the site of application, providing targeted delivery on the skin.

Injections

Injections can be customized and allow for targeted, specialized delivery. They are provided where the substance and the prescription permit, and are held refrigerated where the labeling requires it.

How Do We Source and Verify Ingredients?

  • FDA-Registered Sourcing: We purchase strictly from FDA-registered facilities. We do not purchase from marketplaces, brokers, or overseas sellers.
  • Certificate of Analysis (CoA): Each received shipment is thoroughly reviewed, filed, and provided with an official lab document verifying its exact identity, purity, and potency.
  • Compounding to USP Standards: Strictly following the quality, purity, and safety procedures of the US Pharmacopeia (USP). In addition, our pharmacists are all licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
  • Traceable Prescription Origin: We can provide the specific supplier and lot number behind all of our medication if necessary.

Whether a peptide is appropriate for you is a decision for your prescriber. What we can tell you is what we are able to compound, in which forms, and what it costs.

A prescriber may call our pharmacists to confirm details before a prescription, such as whether we can compound a medication, which dosage forms are ideal, what beyond-use dating applies, and how much the patient will pay. This way, we can answer any questions before a prescription is written rather than when a patient is already expecting medication. We accept prescriptions by e-prescribe, fax, phone, and in-person.

How to Start?

For Patients

  1. Speak to your provider about whether a peptide preparation is appropriate for you.
  2. Call us before the prescription is written if you want to know in advance whether we can fill it.
  3. Have it sent to Pharmique by e-prescribe, fax, or phone, or bring it in.
  4. Collect it or take free local delivery once we have compounded it, usually within 24 to 48 hours.

For Prescribers

  • Call a pharmacist to confirm a substance is one we can compound from.
  • Discuss dosage form, strength, and beyond-use dating before you write.
  • Include the strength, dosage form, quantity, directions, and any titration schedule.
  • Note any excipient restriction on the prescription itself.

Yes. Patients in Lake Mary, Heathrow, Longwood, Sanford, and the wider Orlando area are welcome to collect at the pharmacy, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Local prescription delivery is free if coming to the counter is impractical. We will tell you when your prescription is ready either way.
