What is a compounding pharmacy, and how is it different from a regular pharmacy?
A compounding pharmacy prepares medications individually, from ingredients, against a prescription written for one patient. A regular pharmacy dispenses manufactured products in the strengths and forms a manufacturer chose to make. Compounding is what makes a custom strength, a liquid instead of a tablet, or an allergen-free version possible.
Is prescription delivery free?
Yes, local delivery is free. There is no delivery charge, and we deliver across Central Florida including Lake Mary, Heathrow, Sanford, Longwood, Altamonte Springs, Winter Park, Maitland, and Orlando. Ask for delivery when you send us your prescription or request a refill.
Can you ship my prescription if I don't live near Lake Mary?
Yes. We ship statewide, anywhere in Florida, in compliance with state pharmacy regulations, with cold-chain packaging for temperature-sensitive preparations. Shipping cost depends on the destination and the packaging your medication needs, and we tell you before we ship.
Do I need a prescription for a compounded medication?
Yes, always. Every compounded prescription medication requires a valid prescription written for you by a licensed healthcare provider, or by a licensed veterinarian for an animal. We cannot dispense one without it. If you do not have a provider, we can point you toward resources in Central Florida.
Can I use my insurance at Pharmique?
We accept most major insurance plans, but many compounded medications are not covered, because plans pay from a database of manufactured products that a custom preparation has no entry in. We quote the cash price before we compound anything and can provide paperwork to submit for reimbursement.
How do I transfer my prescriptions to Pharmique?
Call (407) 610-9090 or use the transfer form on this site with your current pharmacy's name and your prescription details, and we contact them and move it for you. You do not need to call your old pharmacy yourself. Most transfers are done the same business day.
